Background
I’m an ambitious, driven generalist with a wide set of skills and a career that looks random from the outside. My wife, Helene, holds it all together. She’s a doctor in the Navy, and we’ve followed her postings across the world — from DC to Boston to Japan. In each new city I reinvented around a different core skill. Oncology research at Harvard. Consulting for the federal government. Product at CVS. Software sales, remote. Now CappaWork, from Japan.
It’s the most excited I’ve been in my career, because all my skills are suddenly converging. I’m not just an idea guy anymore. I can build it from beginning to end: strategy, analytics, product development, and software — and the whole stack stands on good habits. Products must be profitable, delightful, simple, and most importantly, good.
My family has been the best part of this adventure. Traveling the world with seven kids is the stuff of storybooks. Building good software is just the icing on the cake.
